The Freedom of Information Act 2000, which came fully into force in 2005, promotes openness, transparency, and accountability across all public sector organisations. Under the Act, Great Wakering Parish Council is required to make certain information routinely available and to respond to requests for other information held by the Council.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has issued a Model Publication Scheme that all public authorities must adopt. This scheme sets out the types of information we publish, how it can be accessed, and any associated costs.
Below you will find details of our publication scheme, how to make an FOI request, and what you can expect from the Council when doing so.
