Advance Notice Rolling Road Closures

The Essex County Council (Tour of Britain Women’s Road Race)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 202*

 

Notice is hereby given that Essex County Council in exercise of powers under S16 A-C Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended has made the above Orders to facilitate the Tour of Britain Women’s road race (Cycling).

 

Effect of the orders: To temporarily close the following lengths of road in the County of Essex

 

Stage 4 –

Shoeburyness/Southend - Rochford - Shopland Road, Sutton Road, Southend Road, South Street, Weir Pond Road Stambridge -Stambridge Road. Great Stambridge - Gore Road, Creeksea Ferry Road, Lambourne Hall Road. Canewdon -   Anchor Lane, Lark Hill Road, Ashingdon Road. Hullbridge - Lower Road (Hockley), Hullbridge Road (Rochford District and Rayleigh), Watery Lane (Wickford). Rawreth - Hawk Hill (Battlesbridge, Wickford), A132 Burnham Road (Wickford). B1012 Burnham Road (South Woodham Ferrers/Chelmsford), B1012 Woodham Road (Wickford). Maldon - B1010 Fambridge Road (and Chelmsford), B1010 Lower Burnham Road (Chelmsford). Althorne (Chelmsford) - B1010 Burnham Road, Burnham On Crouch - B1010 Burnham Road, B1021 Church Road, B1021 Southminster Road, B1021 Burnham Road. Southminster - B1021 Burnham Road, B1018 High Street, B1021 North Street, B1021 North End, B1021 Cripplegate. Asheldham - B1021 Southminster Road, B1021 Tillingham Road. Tillingham - B1021 South Street. Bradwell on Sea - Maldon Road. Saint Lawrence - Steeple Road. Steeple - Mill Road. Mayland – Steeple Road. Latchingdon - B1018 The Street, B1010 Fambridge Road. Purleigh - B1010 Baron's Lane. Hazeleigh - Goat House Lane, Slough Lane, White Elm Road. Bicknacre - B1418 Main Road. Woodham Ferrers - B1418 Main Road. South Woodham Ferrers - B1012 Burnham Road, A132 Burnham Road. Hayes - Hawk Hill. Rawreth - Chelmsford Road, A1245 Chelmsford Road, Rawreth Lane, Hullbridge Road, Hambro Hill, B1013 Hockley Road. The closures are scheduled to commence on 07 October 2021 for limited times (rolling roadblock) between the hours of 10.30am until 4.30pm or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting, these closures are required to facilitate the Women’s Tour of Britain road race (Cycling).

 

The alternative route/s - adjacent roads will be available for use as diversions including A127, A130, A132, B1018, A414, and A13.

 

Access for emergency vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

 

The Order will come into effect on 07 October 2021 and may continue in force for one day
