Residents across Rochford District are invited to attend two free community safety events this autumn, offering advice and support on Halloween safety and anti-bullying.
Delivered by Rochford District Council’s Community Safety Team and local partners, the events will provide practical information and give residents the opportunity to discuss community safety issues with professionals working across the district.
Ahead of Halloween, residents can attend a Halloween Community Safety Event at Clements Hall, Hockley, on 28 October 2026 from 1.30pm to 4pm. The event will offer practical safety and crime prevention advice, along with an opportunity to discuss local community safety concerns.
An Anti-Bullying Awareness Week event will be held during a Detached Youth Session at King George's V Playing Field on 19 November 2026 from 3pm to 5pm. The event will promote positive behaviour, inclusion and respect, while signposting young people and families to organisations that can provide support and guidance.
Councillor Jo McPherson, Chair of Rochford District Council Communities and Housing Committee, said: “These events are a great opportunity to get practical advice, ask questions and have open conversations about the issues that matter to local people. They also provide a valuable chance to meet the teams and partner organisations working in the community, understand how concerns can be reported and learn about the steps everyone can take to help keep themselves and others safe. We hope people will come along and say hello.”
